Microcredential on the production and digital dissemination of 3D models for the precise documentation of buildings, cultural objects, paintings and achives
Thanks to very accessible technologies, these resources can be registred and shared globally efficiently and with minimum costs. The microcredential is presented as a valuable add-on to any master's degree within the humanities field, but it is also open to anyone interested, including bachelor students and professionals from outside the university.
The microcredential is practically focused, requiring no prior knowledge, and uses case-based methodologies to teach the use of digital tools, preferably free of charge. Students will learn to generate at least one digital model, having learned all that is necessary to capture, model and publish it, and will also explore the conceptual implications of these technologies in the humanities.
The specific objectives are:
- To provide training on digital devices and techniques (such as photogrammetry, 3D scanning or LiDAR) for the capture, modelling, processing and publishing of 3D models of objects, buildings or historical sites, in order to visualise them in virtual reality or augmented reality environments.
- To provide training on advance imaging techniques applied to the study of historical documents through hyperspectral photography
- To complete and update the training provided by the existing UV humanities research master's.
- To facilitate the updating and continuous training of the teaching staff of the Universitat de València, and to offer it also to other groups inside and outside the UV.
- To promote interdisciplinarity among students and research staff, since work is carried out on technologies that have applications in several humanities disciplines.
- To improve the training of future research technical personnel, already trained in digital tools
