Micro-enterprises or SMEs with a minimum of one year and a maximum of four years of age and based in the Valencian Community may participate in the STARTUP category and compete for the three prizes.

Participation in the JUNIOR category may be done individually or collectively. Individuals or teams of entrepreneurs with an innovation project that has not yet been set up as a company are eligible for all three prizes.

In both categories, at least one of the founders of the company or the innovation project must be a graduate, student or linked to the Universitat de València.

The procedure for awarding the prizes consists of two different phases. In the first of these, the Universitat de València will select the six candidates with the greatest business potential, assessing their innovative character and technical and commercial viability, among other criteria.

The candidatures selected by the Universitat de València, will compete in a second phase with all the candidatures presented by the five Valencian public universities, having to make a public presentation of their project and business activity before a Selection Committee appointed by the Generalitat Valenciana. The awards will be presented at an official ceremony organised by the Regional Department of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Work.

As a novelty in this edition, the team that won the first prize in the STARTUP category will be able to enjoy the attendance to the technological event Webit Festival Europe, which will be held in Valencia next year 2021, in addition to 9,000 Euros in a non-refundable payment.

The deadline for submitting applications will remain open until 11 September 2020 and can be done through the UV's online office.
