A new campaign for Cinema in Valencian in Gandia

Thursday 14 November starts a new edition of Cinema in Valencian in Gandia It is a project launched in Gandia in 2006 by the City Council of Gandia and the two universities that have presence there, the UPV and Universitat de València.

The director of Universitat de València – Gandia Centre, Emili Aura, the councillor of the Promotion of Valencian, Nahuel González and the technician of linguistic normalisation of  Gandia Campus of UPV, Josepa Costa, presented yesterday the new edition of campaign for Cinema in Valencian 2019. It is a project launched in Gandia in 2006 -13 years ago-, organised by Agència AVIVA of City Council of Gandia for  Valencian Promotion, the Universitat Politècnica of València and the Universitat de València.

This edition, achieving the good reception that always has this campaign, want to continue with the cinema offer of quality and in Valencian. The screenings will star on Thursday 14 November, at 8:00 p.m., with “The Gernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mike Newell. On 28 November, “A Rainy Day in New York” by Woody Allen. Both screenings will take place in Sala B of Serrano Theatre of Gandia. The ticket will cost 2€, or for free unless you have the university and libraries card.

Also, the programme has a morning screening on 12 December aimed at school students of the city. In that occasion, the film will be “Dilili in Paris” by Michel Ocelot. 

The aim of this campaign is promoting the normalisation of Valencian through cinema, demanding more dubbedand subtitled films in Valencian, as well as making visible the issue of the Valencian audio-visual industry.
