The Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València was the headquarters of the Employment Forum UV that took place on 12 February, and that was extended in the 16th edition of the Conference on Career Opportunities of the Faculty on the 13. The Forum was pushed forward by the Vice-principal of Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment, through the UVjob and the General Foundation UV, and brought together around 40 enterprises and entities in search for future professionals highly qualified.
In this new conference, the Universitat de València wanted that students, that will be soon graduate in the Faculty, connected with the labour market, private and public, as well as with the administrations, institutions and enterprises of the legal-administrative sector, potential employers of university talent.
Thus, the Law’s job fair was visited from 9am to 5pm on the 12 in the Faculty hall, where it were foreseen the installation of 40 stands of enterprises and entities that reported new job opportunities. Among these:
- Fundació València Activa of the Valencia City Council
- Labora. Valencian Service of Employment and Training
- Inserta Empleo de Fundación ONCE, for the job inclusoin of people with disabilities
- Andersen Tax & Legal Iberia, international office that has about 400 offices all around the world
- Broseta Abogados, prestigious valencian firm highly consolidated in the area
- Cuatrecasas, law firm specialised in the enterprises law
- Garrigues, legal and tax services firm that bet for young talent
- Distinguished Bar Association of Valencia (ICAV), institutions that make visible, guarantee and protect the profession
- Jurispol Formación, academy leader at national level in the preparation of public service exams for State Security Forces and Bodies
- Public Service Exams GVA, dependent on the General Directorate of Civil Service, responsible for the planning, selection, supply of vacancies and training of the personnel at service of the Administration of the Generalitat
- Pérez-Llorca, referent law firm specialised in national and international client advice in the main operations and market disputes
- RSM, sixth international organization of services of audit andAssurance,Tax, Legal, Consulting and Corporate Finance
- Audit Office of the Valencian Community, independent statuary institution in charge of audit the accounts of the Generalitat, of the dependent organisms of those and the local corporations
- Uría Menéndez Abogados, recognise national and international prestige firms since its founding in 1940
The programme parallel to the fair began with the inaugural act of the Forum, on 9am, also in the lobby of the Faculty, in charge of the Vice-Principal of Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment, Ángeles Solanes, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Clara Viana.
Next, the professors José María Peiró, Full-time university professor of Social Psychology, and Adrián Todolí, and Labour and Social Security Law, presented the Diagnosis and Strategies about the Future of Professions Report in the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València, pushed forward by the Vice-principal of Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employment.
The Dean Clara Viana oversaw then the inaugural session that, with the title ‘Dana: the role of the professions in the management of emergency’ counted with a well-stocked expert representation in Law, Economy and Tax, Property Register, Victims Assistance, Property Management, Insurances, Notary, Tax Advice and members of the Civil Guard.
The legal matter around the AI and its professional opportunities completed the morning which ended with the intervention of the actor and comedian Tonino, who gave the monologue ‘El jefe y tú’ (‘The boss and you’).
The panel discussions of the afternoon concentrated on the public employment through the public service exam process that entered in detail in the requirements for each speciality.
16th Conference of Professional opportunities
The second session, the 13, was devoted to the job opportunities of the degrees that are offered by the Faculty of Law UV and, moreover, the students could visit the stands of the Master’s Degree UV and other university services at their disposal throughout the lobby of the centre.
The panel discussions, that experts formed, were centered during the whole morning in the job opportunities for the areas of Political Sciences and the Public Administration, Criminology, Tax Advice, Law and including the Universitat.
