The event will take place on 12 December in the Teatro Serrano. This concert, as all the activities organised by the Universitat de València during this course, will be solidary with those affected by the DANA.
As every year, the Universitat de València will celebrate the traditional Christmas Concert by the UV Philharmonic Orchestra. The event will take place on 12 December at 7:00pm in the Teatro Serrano, and the entry will be free.
The concert will start with the interpretation of The Nutcracker and Les Patineurs, and will continue with The Syncopated Clock and Sleigh Ride. To close, the Orchestra will play Adestes fideles, piece with which they will congratulate Christmas to the attendees.
This year, it will be a solidarity concert. Although it is of free entry, the event will be useful to spread among the attendees the #UVAjuda campaign, launched by the Universitat de València for raising funds to help those affected by the DANA. A campaign that will remain during all the course.
The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Universitat de València (OFUV) was created by Cristóbal Soler in 1995 in response and to give cohesion to diverse offers of instrumental groups formed by students. The OFUV is currently composed by 80 young musicians, mostly university students, with an average age of 20. Its objective is providing its members with high-quality training in orchestral performance, with specialised teaching staff. After the departure of Cristóbal Soler, its titular directors have been Beatriz Fernández Aucejo and Hilari Garcia.
