Anaerobic treatment of waste water (AnMBR)

We promote researcg and development of anaerobic membrane systems (AnMBR) as the efficient and sustainable alternative for waste water treatment. These technologies lead to reduction of the pollution charge and the generation of biogas as a renewable energy source which contributes to closing the cycle of water and energy in productive processes.

Biowaste co-digestion

We incorporate new co-digestion strategies that combine different organic waste fluxes to maximise  biogas production and resource restoration. This approach strengthens energetic and environmental viability of facilities, promoting circular and sustainable management of industrial and urban waste.

EDAR Mud Management

We are working on advanced solutions for the EDAR mud management, stabilisation and valuation with special emphasis on hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC) and co-carbonisation with other biomass waste. These technologies allow he transformation of mud and organic subproducts into hydrochar, a material with high adsorption, soil correction and facilitation of biological processes such as anaerobic digestion potential. We also research ther operations like drying, digesting and restoring added value compounds, in order to turn waste into resources, reduce their environmental impact and advance towards more realistic bioeconomy and circular economy models.

Advanced technologies to obtain bioenergy

We focus our studies in the processes of generation and use of biogas and biomethane from waste currents and organics subproducts. We include the research for anaerobic digestion technologies, upgrading, and energetic use which we can improve the biogas quality with along with industrial systems and energetic networks integration.
