Dr. Genaro Saavedra
Full Professor of Optics
|
Genaro
Saavedra received his BS and PhD degrees in Physics from the
Universitat de
València, Spain, in 1990 and 1996, respectively. His PhD work was honored with the PhD Extraordinary Award. He is currently an Associate Professor with this University. Since 1999 he has been co-leading the “3D Imaging and Display Laboratory”, at the Optics Department.
His
current research interests are focused on 3D optical imaging and display, specially integral imaging/plenoptic techniques and 3D high-resolution optical microscopy. He is also interested in optical diffraction, phase-space representation
of scalar
optical fields and ultrashort light pulses propagation. He has supervised three PhD theses, one
of them honored with the PhD Extraordinary
Award. He has published on these topics about sixty technical articles in major journals and four chapters in scientific books. He has reported over eighty conference proceedings, including twenty-five invited presentations. |
