Promoted by the National Security Council, in 2013 the National Security Strategy was published, which includes Cybersecurity within its twelve areas of action and whose update is published here.

The purpose of the document is to set the general guidelines for the safe use of cyberspace through the promotion of an integrated vision that guarantees the security and progress of Spain. This objective should be achieved through appropriate coordination and cooperation between all public administrations, but also between those with the private sector and citizens.

The Strategy aims to achieve security in cyberspace through the development and implementation of a national cybersecurity policy, which requires an appropriate regulatory framework to provide greater confidence in the use of ICTs.
