Objectives of the Master's Degree:

To analyse the application of criminal mediation as an instrument of restorative justice within alternative methods of conflict resolution. To do so, from the international and national legal framework, the specific characteristics of criminal mediation, the figure of the mediator and the phases through which mediation passes from its beginning to the agreement taken by the parties are analysed, with special reference to the particularities that can produce the reparation of the damage both in the process and in the criminal execution. In order to complete the theoretical knowledge of the course with a necessary projection of practical application, the teachers include professional mediators, different mediation experiences are analysed, and practical cases are carried out.

Professional opportunities:

Training to act as a mediator in criminal mediation programmes in courts and penitentiary centres; participating in alternative conflict resolution in the intercultural, community, school and juvenile fields.
