The National Security Council recently adopted an agreement approving the National Strategy against Organised Crime and Major Crimes.

The National Strategy against Organised Crime and Major Crimes 2019-2023 revises and updates the previous Spanish Strategy against Organised Crime 2011-2014. Although some of the circumstances dealt with in it are still in force today, changes in certain aspects of crime, technology, society and the international situation mean that, after several years since its planned end (although, since then, the application of certain actions has continued to be developed and others implemented), it must be reviewed and updated in order to have a renewed strategic vision.

We are facing new threats and challenges to national security arising from the scenarios, some new, presented by organised crime and major crime. The main objective of this Strategy is to reduce the negative consequences associated with them, to bring criminals to justice, to dismantle existing groups and to prevent the establishment of new ones.
