The conference ‘Intercultural cities. Intercultural local policies today, perspectives and challenges in Spain and Italy’ will take place in the room PB-05 of the Faculty of Teacher Training (Universitat de València).
The conference, to be presented by Ana Vázquez from the UV Department of Social Work and Social Services, Albert Mora from the UV Institute of Human Rights and Mariagrazia Santagati from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, aims to provide a forum for reflection on local intercultural policies and the experience of intercultural cities in Spain and Italy. The objective is twofold: firstly, to assess the impact of the Council of Europe’s Intercultural Cities Programme in Spanish and Italian cities; and secondly, to identify the key challenges that must be addressed in the coming years to advance towards equality, social cohesion and the eradication of discrimination, polarisation and hatred.
