Expociència, the celebration of science and innovation of the Universitat de València, celebrates the 11th edition this year. The meeting will be on Saturday 25th of May from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Science Park of the UV. The 2019 Expociència programme gathers one hundred of scientific activities related to science and technology organised by researcher of the UV and the CSIC, and also with the collaboration of the Science Park companies. Games, learning and fun for the thousands of visitors who each year come to this space dedicated to innovation and places in the surroundings of the Burjassot-Paterna Campus.

Expociència is the open day of the Science Park (PCUV), the Innovation ecosystem of the Universitat de València, as well as a place in which scientists and businessmen work in order to provide the transfer of knowledge to the productive sector and society. Just as every year, the Park organizes this celebration of science, technology and innovation with the purpose of showing their research activity to the public. This is carried out as a game during Saturday morning.

This year, the organisation has prepared around a hundred ludic and informative proposals. Apart from the activities the research institutes of the PCUV and the School of Engineering (ETSE) prepare every year, other institutions participate, like companies of the Park, several centers, departments and entities of the Universitat de València (Botanical Garden, Clinics of Universitat-Fundació Lluís Alcanyís, the Museum of Natural History of the Universitat, among others) and the Fira Experimenta. During this eleventh edition, there will be participation of other associations and NGOs, the City of Arts and Sciences, the Institut de Tecnología Química (ITQ-UPV/CSIC) and the Chess Club Eva Manises, among others.

The physics, chemistry, astronomy, biology and robotics workshops, will offer the visitor the possibility to immerse in the most ludic part of science, observing the Universe from the depths of the sea, contributing to plant a forest or by working as a scientific police in a crime in the laboratory of genetics. People will be able to draw in 3D, appear and disappear behind some polarized glasses, prepare a Slime, draw with bacteria, launch a rocket, play with Lego robots, observe the cellules or detect environmental radioactivity. In order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the creation of the periodic system, there will be activities about it which will conclude with the elaboration of a big Periodic Table crafted through fun scientific methods. The Table will finally be exhibited in the Natural History Museum of the Universitat.

The visitors will be able to share their experiences with prestigious scientists, like the ones who work at the European Space Agency or at the Large Hadron Collider of the CERN; scientists who work in the preservation of biodiversity, energy efficiency and environment. Most of these scientists work at the Science Park and will attend the Expociència in order to meet everyone.

The conference will include the awards ceremony of the Natura Project, an initiative aimed at secondary school students for the elaboration of natural science projects for primary school students, organized by the Faculty of Biology of the Universitat de València.

Organised by the Science Park, Expociència welcomes every year thousands of citizens and collaborates with the Universitat de València and the del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), as well as the support of the Generalitat Valenciana.

The organisation encourages the use of public transport.
