The member of the research group LOCSUS Indira Betancourt has published the book "The local development of Cuba. Obstacles to the design and application of policies for sustainable development "in the publishing house Publicacions Universitat de València, within the Territorial Development Collection - Studies and Documents.
The publication of what was the Master’s Degree Final Project (TFM) of Indira Betancourt is the result of having won the 7th Initation Grant to Research Josep Maria Bernabé.
The work explains in depth the political and socioeconomic reality of Cuba since the end of Spanish rule in 1898, up to the present, providing a critical analysis of its context in relation to the feasibility or not of local development policies. It also aims to clarify the obstacles presented by the agencies and actors responsible for the management and application of these policies.
