The colloquium studies the socio-spatial effects of the crisis, and in particular the emergence of an "urbanism of austerity" in the countries of the north of the Mediterranean. It arises within the framework of the "Cities, Territories, Citizenships" axis 2017 - 2019 of the House of Velázquez, and forms part of one of the lines of research of the Metropolis program: crisis and changes funded by the French School of Rome. is to consider the transformation of metropolitan spatialities in the light of a reflection on the new relations of power and the recompositions they imply in terms of local public policies.The scientific team organizing this initiative is composed of Nacima Baron, Université Paris Est, and by Juan Romero, Juan Miguel Albertos, Julia Salom, Carme Melo, Joaquin Farinós and María Dolores Pitarch of the University of Valencia.
