Thousands of Plymothians and visitors will line the city's foreshore tonight for the spectacular opening of the annual fireworks championships (5th edition).
Six competitors stake their claim for the title of British Fireworks Champion 2001. Visitors descend on all areas of Plymouth Sound including the Hoe, Jennycliff, Mount Batten and Penlee Point, while some even take their boats out into the Sound.
