Who are we?

Laboratorio de Investigación en Células Endoteliales (L.In.CE) research group is a multidisciplinary team of expert researchers in Vascular and Endocrine Physiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Reproductive Biology.

What do we do?

Group’s main research field is the study of vascular effects of estrogen and other steroid hormones. To achieve this goal, a translational approach covering cultured endothelial cells, experiments in animal models and studies in postmenopausal women receiving hormone therapy replacement is performed. We have recently initiated a research line on aging-associated endothelial dysfunction.

What kind of studies do we perform?

Studies on gene and protein expression, vasoactive substance production and functional approaches are carried out by different molecular biology techniques (PCR, RT-PCR, microarrays), biochemical techniques (western blot, immunofluorescence, ELISA, HPLC), cell biology techniques (primary cultures of human endothelial cells, flow cytometry) and vascular physiology techniques (vascular reactivity).
