On the occasion of its general assembly, the Association for the Advancement of Experimental and Applied Hypnosis (AAHEA), in collaboration with the Universitat Jaume I and the Col-legi Oficial de Psicologia de la Comunitat Valenciana, is holding the 8th Conference "Hypnosis: Advances and Applications", to be held on 9 and 10 November 2018 at the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) in Castellón.
The VIII AAHEA Conference will be attended by:
- Irving Kirsch, PhD., Associate Director of the Placebo Studies Program at Harvard Medical School. Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the Universities of Connecticut (US), Plymouth (UK) and Hull (UK), who will give the lecture "The Emperor's New Drugs: Antidepressants and the Placebo Effect" and the workshop "Suggestion in the Treatment of Depression".
- Dra. Maribel Rodríguez, Psychiatrist, Doctor in Medicine and Surgery and Master in Psychotherapy from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Expert in Therapy Speech and Hypnosis. Member of AAHEA, of the Spanish Association of Therapy Speech (AESLO) and Director of the Engrams Center for Integrative Psychotherapy in Madrid, which will give the conference "Hypnosis, Therapy Speech and Psychiatry, a proposal for integration".
There will also be a Round Table on "Hypnosis is useful for more than just living with pain", with the following confirmed participants: Antoni Castel (PhD in psychology, holder of the Pain Unit at the Joan XXIII University Hospital in Tarragona and coordinator of the Psychology and Pain working group of the Spanish Pain Society), D. José López Porcar (Head of the Anaesthesia, Reanimation and Pain Unit Service of the Provincial Hospital Consortium of Castellón and Associate Professor of Ana Casanova Moreno (Nurse of the Pain Unit of the Provincial Hospital Consortium of Castellón), Lola Honrubia Cebrian (Midwife of the Health Centre of San Agustín-Borriol and Associate Professor of Nursing at the University Jaume I).
