Méthodos held in the Meeting Room of the Facultat de Filosofía i Ciències de l’Educació, a Philosophy of Medicine Seminar. The participants were Ferran Martínez-García (Professor of Physiology-Histology, UJI) and Cristian Saborido (Assistant Professor of Philosophyof Biology, UNED). Martínez-García addressed the issue of the so-called “Attention Deficit Disorder” or ADHD and the use of psychotropic drugs in children. On the other hand, Saborido discussed the concept of ‘function’ in Biology, highlighting the similarities between the notion of ‘malfunction’ and ‘disease’ through his organizational approach.

Víctor J. Luque gave a talk on his work: Philosophy of Biology: dynamics, causality and analogies. It took place in the conference room of the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science.

Angelo Fasce gave a talk on his work: The widespread problem of demarcation: unfinished battle and social responsibility of the Philosophy of Science, at the Postgrade of Contemporary Philosophical thought. PDF
The talk was followed by a debate. It was about the possibility of elaborate a list of necessary conditions to claim something as pseudoscience.
We appreciate the presence of some members from the Master of Basic and Apply Neurosciences.
