Presentation of the Privacy and Digital Transformation Chair (Microsoft-UV) will be carried out by the Principal, Mr. Esteban Morcillo Sánchez, with which the Universitat de València will become the first European university with an institutional chair promoted by Microsoft. The chair will be dedicated to research in the areas of privacy and digital transformation.

The main objective of this initiative answers to a vision - to promote the generation of corporative thinking in privacy -, and a mission to lead the knowledge on privacy in Spain and Europe during the period 2016-2020. The Chair will promote training courses on privacy, cybersecurity and digital transformation; sessions that, with an educational/training finality, could bring first-level speakers, both in the field of business and university; and researches sponsored by the Chair.

Likewise, the Chair will promote conferences, educational cooperation encouraging, development of joint research lines, research works and doctoral theses conducting, promotion of national and international meetings of experts on topics of interest, and cooperation for research projects, among others.

It will also promote the generation of audiovisual content, the carrying out of work to transfer research results, the holding of dissemination sessions on technical and technological innovative topics, and specialized professional exchange events. On the other hand, it is planned to collaborate in the promotion of technical and scientific meetings and publications on topics of interest.
