This seminar is conducted by the research group collaborating with the Neurolaw group (www.uv.es/neurolaw): Studies de Law y Political Science (UOC).
Neuroprediction is one of the most challenging and promising frontiers in contemporary neuroscience. This seminar focuses on how the study of the brain, through techniques such as neuroimaging and analysis of brain activity, which can be helpful for anticipating criminal behaviour. Is it possible to predict the likelihood of criminal behaviour from neural data? What are the ethical and legal implications of this possibility? Throughout the seminar, by the hand of a true expert, Dr. Miquel Julià-Pijoan, we will explore the potential that these tools have in the legal area, their scientific limitations and the deep questions that its efficiency, viability and regulation poses.
The deadline for the registration finishes on 27 November 2025.
