The director of the Chair, Aurora Pedro, has been invited to give one of the opening addresses of the International Congress in Heritage Tourism Management in Inland Destinations (CIGESTUR) that will take place from 26 to 28 April in Cairo, Egypt.

Aurora Pedro will give an opening conference together with Dmitriy Voyakin, director of The International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) and Frank Babinger (Complutense University of Madrid). The lecturer Pedro will focus on “the tourism after the pandemic: recovery and challenges”.

In addition, the director of the New Green Transition Chair

will introduce a Communication named “Tourism and heritage in the digital age”, which presents some of the project results that the Chair is developing in inland areas. The objective is detecting obstacles for the tourism development in rural and deserted areas.

This international congress is organised by the Sinai High Institute for Tourism and Hotels in Egypt with the cooperation of the University of Córdoba in Spain.

This meeting has the aim of bringing together leader scientists and academic researchers of Spain, England, other European countries, Latin America and Egypt. In this way, they will be able to exchange and share their experiences and results of scientific researches, ideas and applications in relation with global trends in heritage, tourism science and hotel industry management.
