The new brand UVocupació will assist students to improve their skills in the employers market while it develops their role in the analysis and research of the labour market.

The University of Valencia is investing in the future career of its graduate students with the creation of the new brand UVocupació. In order to do so, a new webpage has been designed. It will facilitate the interconnection between the students and this project of employability and career guidance.

One of the fundamental pillars of UVocupació is to improve the competence and employability of the graduate students. In its role as an advisor, it will guide graduate students in the creation of a CV, professional opportunities, employment research techniques…

Moreover, UVocupació offers a range of courses and tutorials for undergraduate and graduate students of the University. Not only are these courses recognised with credits for participation, but they also offer a wide training in employment research tools and techniques such as preparing for a job interview, creating a personal brand, the characteristics of an entrepreneur and many more.

In regards of employability amongst graduate students, UVocupació has its own prospective employers agency, which manages numerous job offers and controls supply and demand recruitment. Employability is also materialised in employment forums, events in which University of Valencia graduates are put in touch directly with companies interested in specific professional profiles. These job fairs take place in the faculties, which facilitates a higher chance of success in employability.

UVocupació will also develop a study and analysis task in labour insertion for University graduates. Some studies are carried out in order to get to know and combine the labour market demands, the profile of the graduate students and university education. Some of that research is the study of the evolution of the post-university employability and its future perspectives or knowing how companies contract and selects university students.

One last very important facet of the new brand is its focus on functional diversity. The aim is to increase this collective’s professional presence in the labour market and the quality of employment through the maintenance and boosting of the already existing project “Talent i capacitate a la Universitat”.
