SERGEJ MIRONOV (Comenius conductor)

Associate professor Sergej Mironov CS, graduated from the Faculty of Music Education in Moscow in 1974. In the period of 1974-1977 he was vice-conductor of the Academic Singing Choir at Comenius University, then up to 1983 he conducted Girls’ Singing Choir of the Faculty of Education in Trnava. At present he is lecturing in choir singing and conducting at the Faculty of Education, Comenius University in Bratislava. Since 1994 he has been the conductor of Ozvena, a women’s singing choir, which was awarded the title of laureate at B. Smetana International Choir Competition in Litomysl (1997) and B. Martinu International Choir Competition in Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic 1999) and a special Festival de Música de Cantonigrós prize (Spain 1997). In 1995 he won a special prize for conducting in the International Choir Competition in Litomysl.
