JOSÉ GERALDO ARRIECHE GONZALEZ

University of Los Andes Choir Conductor

He began his studies of sol – faing, complementary piano and harmony at the University of Los Andes School of Music (U.L.A)

He has fulfilled a labor a singer and directing of the Cantoría de Mérida.

He attended the course for directors given by Prof. Guido Minolletti (1979) and the Prof. Horst Neuman (1981). He accomplished choral studies with Prof. Eduardo Moubarack. He went on with his musical studies with Prof. Modesta Bor and he works as a teacher at the University of Los Andes School of Music.

He has conducted the following choral groups:

-Coral de empleados de la Universidad de los Andes(1980)

-Orfeón de la Universidad de los Andes (1980-1983) y (1989-?)

-Coral del Colegio de Médicos (1984)

-Cantoría de Mérida (1983-1987) y (1989-?)

-Coral de Adultos de la Gobernación del Dtto. Federal (1988-1989)

-Coral del Ministerio de Minas (1988-1989)

He was invited to participate as an observer in the III Internationales Kammerchor Wettbewerb’93 in Marktoberdof (Germany), which is considered among the best of the great Europe premiums.

In 1996 he dictated a course about Venezuelan choral music at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia (Spain) and he was invited to participate as an observer in the III International Choir Competence of Riva del Garda (Italy), sponsored by Förderverein INTERKULTUR e. V. of Germany.
