Lissajous figures are the
result of the composition of two harmonic orthogonal motions.
Depending on the frequencies ratio (integer or rational)
the result may be highly complex.
This applet
plots Lissajous figures originated from two cosine
functions of two
different frequencies and whose arguments have a
constant phase shift.
To proceed
one has first to write down the two frequencies and the phase shift (degrees).
The resulting figures are very sensitive
to the ratio of frequencies.
