Lissajous curves applet

Conceived by  J.A.Oteo
Developed by A.Fernández-García

Lissajous figures are the result of the composition of two harmonic orthogonal motions.
Depending on the frequencies ratio (integer or rational)
the result may be highly complex.

This applet plots Lissajous figures originated from two cosine functions of two
different frequencies and whose arguments have a constant phase shift.

Download the applet
Run the applet
(Java version 1.7 required)

To proceed one has first to write down the two frequencies and the phase shift (degrees).
The resulting figures are very sensitive to the ratio of frequencies.

Control buttons:   PLAY:   Plots Lissajous figure provided the parameter
values are properly written down.

STOP:  Stops plotting.

ALT+Left mouse button: detaches the applet from the navigator.
