Official Postgraduate Programme IN Physics

Programme Description

The Masters in Advanced Physics has evolved as a result of required course adaptations since 2006-07 and now constitutes the taught phase of the Doctorate programme in Physics at the University of Valencia.


The current Masters awards 120 credits over a two year programme, structured as follows:

  • 1st Year.

    Students should obtain 60 ECTS credits of complementary training. As noted in the admission requirements, students enrolling on the Masters may have already obtained some or all of these credits.
  • 2nd Year, First semester.

    The student will study 30 ECTS credits through one of the four elective courses of the Masters, namely,
    • Theoretical Physics,
    • Astrophysics,
    • Nuclear and Particle Physics,
    • Photonics.
  • 2nd Year, second semester.

    The student, with the tutor's approval, will take a core module worth 25 credits that constitutes the Masters final project. Together with this they will take a module worth 5 credits, consisting of either a placement in a research centre, or an introduction to writing the final project.
