Netscape
4.X
With
Netscape 4, this is done as follows (other versions of Netscape
are similar):
- Choose
"Preferences" from the "Edit" menu. This displays the "Preferences"
dialog box.
- In
the left-hand "category" portion of the box, click on "Navigator",
then on "Applications".
- Click
on the "New Type" button. This displays the "New Type" dialog
box.
- Enter
the following information in the first three fields:
- Description:
ViSta Data File
- File
Extension: vdf
- MIME
Type: application/x-vista-data
- Click
on the "Browse" button and use the dialog box to locate the
ViSta executable. You have to know where it is stored on your
computer.
- After
selecting the executable, close the browse dialog box.
- Click
"OK" in the "New Type" dialog.
- Click
"OK" in the "Preferences" dialog.
You
have now configured Netscape 4 to recognize ViSta datafiles.
Netscape
3.X
With
Netscape 3, this is done as follows:
- Choose
"General Preferences" from the "Options" menu. This displays
the "General Preferences" dialog box.
- Click
on the "Helpers" tab.
- Click
on the "New" button. This displays the "Edit Type" dialog box.
- Enter
the following information in the first three fields:
- Description:
ViSta Data File
- MIME
Type: application/x-vista-data
- Suffixes:
vdf
- Click
on the "Application" radio button.
- Click
on the "Browse" button and use the dialog box to locate the
ViSta executable.
- After
selecting the executable, close the browse dialog box.
- Click
"OK" in the "Edit Type" dialog.
- Click
"Apply" and then "OK" in the "General Preferences" dialog.
You
have now configured Netscape 3 to recognize ViSta datafiles. |
