The 3rd International Conference of the Spanish Scientific Society of Social Psychology took place in Cuenca from 4 to 6 October 2018.
The 3rd International Conference of the Spanish Scientific Society of Social Psychology and 14th National Conference on Social Psychology is the most important scientific meeting of social psychologists that takes place every two years in Spain. The last edition took place from 4 to 6 October 2018, at the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences in Cuenca.
The scientific programme focused on different areas of study, leading to 30 research topics:
- psychosocial intrapersonal processes;
- interpersonal processes and relationships;
- group psychology and intergroup relationships;
- applied social psychologies; and
- other areas of study within social psychology.
In this context, members of the Research Group on Psychosocial Well-being in Childhood and Adolescence (BIPSIA) presented two papers entitled ‘Intimate partner violence among adolescents and new technologies and ‘Bullying, cyberbullying and online risk behaviours in adolescent cyber-aggressors.’
In addition to the various activities, the conference also featured international presentations. Full Professor of the Eindhoven University of Technology Evangelia Demerouti (Netherlands) gave the opening lecture entitled ‘Improving employee well-being and functioning at work: The use of bottom-up approaches.’ On the other hand, Professor of the University College London Ana Guinote gave the closing lecture entitled ‘How Power Affects Thought and Action: Energizing and Seeking Salient Goals.’
