The Universitat the València reflects and promotes its presence in Harvard

A session organised by RCC Harvard will be celebrated on Thursday 26 of April. It is organised to reflect on the presence of Spanish universities in Harvard, as member institutions of RCC. The Universitat de València is part of the consortium RCC Harvard, which is a joint centre of Harvard University, Complutense de Madrid, Alcalá, Politécnica de Madrid, Sevilla, and València.

The principals of these institutions and the Principal of the Universidad de Valencia, Mª Vicenta Mestre, will gather with the Principal of Harvard University, Drew Gilpin Faust, and the members of the Academic Council of RCC. They will debate the future of the relationships among the universities and the academic cooperation among the institutions that integrate this unique centre. The former Vice-principal for Internationalization and Cooperation of the Universitat de València, Guillermo Palao, will take office as member of the Advisory Board of RCC Harvard during the meeting of this academic council. Carles Padilla will replace him as Vice-Principal.

The ambassador of Spain in the United States and the consul in Boston will participate in the meeting as well, supporting our presence in Harvard University.

In the session, professors and students of these universities that are currently placed in Harvard have participated in research and teaching programmes thanks to the collaboration agreements with this prestigious American university. They will debate the links and the relationship among universities, technical questions related to the mobility programmes in which they can participate and how they can take advantage of their experience in the American university once they have returned to their universities of origin.

Particularly, five professors of the Universitat de València have grants that have been given thanks to the agreements between the UV and RCC Harvard for research mobility issues. They are led by Manuel Guillén, the representative of the University in the RCC Harvard.  Throughout this academic course, five professors of the Universitat de València have participated in research mobility programmes in Harvard University thanks to the agreements with the RCC Harvard.
