Programme - Instructions - Circular (pdf)

This international conference, promoted by the Language Teaching Research Group (GIEL) of the Universitat de València, has established itself as a leading forum for research in language didactics, following several editions held in Valencia and Barcelona since 2014. Under the theme “Grammar in focus: focus on grammar”, the conference highlights the need to examine the role of grammar both as an object of study and as a tool for developing communicative competence. It promotes approaches that integrate metalinguistic and interlinguistic reflection as key elements in language learning across diverse educational contexts.

CONFERENCE SECTIONS

  • The interlinguistic perspective in grammar teaching
  • Grammar teaching and language use
  • Grammatical reflection in language teaching
  • Grammar teaching and linguistic theories
  • History of grammar teaching
  • New approaches to grammar teaching

The VIDECOM project contributes a specific perspective focused on the use of video as a resource for developing the communicative strategies of future teachers in multilingual contexts. The project examines how audiovisual productions and reflective practice can help improve both linguistic and digital competence in pre-service teachers, as well as support formative assessment and self-assessment processes. VIDECOM's participation in CONGRAM27 reinforces its commitment to knowledge transfer and scientific dissemination, which includes presence at international conferences as privileged spaces for sharing findings, comparing methodologies and building new academic networks. The conference invites researchers to submit papers, posters and symposia addressing the relationship between theory and practice in grammar teaching, as well as methodological innovations and empirical evidence from different educational settings. Key themes include the relationship between grammar and language use, grammatical reflection in language teaching, connections with linguistic theories, and new didactic approaches in this field — the latter being of particular relevance to the research carried out within the VIDECOM project.
