Installation

To install PL you can do one of the following:
1) If you are currently inside Windows: Select File|Run from the program
manager, and type the following line in your command line box:
	a:\winstall
if the PL installation disk is in drive A:, or
	b:\winstall
if the PL installation disk is in drive B. Now click on the OK button to
start the installation. You will be prompted for some information necessary
to complete the installation.

2) If you are at the DOS prompt: Change your drive to the drive containing
the PL installation disk (usually A: or B:), and type:
	winstall
This will start Windows and the installation program. You will be prompted for
some information necessary to complete the installation.

Tokenizer files
---------------
This release contains three tokenizer files, called tknztbld.cpl (1),
spectok.cpl (2) and latin_1.cpl (3). The first contains a general rule
set which will be appropriate for most customers. The second adds
special rules for indexing underscores (_) and dollar signs ($). The
third (latin_1) has rules for dealing with characters in the extended
ASCII range. This file might be considered by our customers overseas
whose languages include characters not found in the English language.
If you want to use the rules in spectok.cpl or latin_1.cpl, you should
back up your tknztbld.cpl file by copying tknztbld.cpl to deftok.cpl,
then copying the desired file into tknztbld.def.

Changing printer settings
-------------------------
When the application is invoked, the printer that is selected for printing
in PL is the printer that is selected as the default printer for Windows (this
can be modified through the control panel). If you want to use a printer other
than what is currently selected as the default printer, we recommend that
you quit the application, set the desired printer as your new default printer
(by using the Windows control panel), and restart PL. The Print Setup dialog
in PL can also be used to select a different printer. However, if the printer
that is selected has a different resolution than the default Windows printer,
the printer output may appear too large or too small. We are currently working
to make sure this problem is resolved in the next release.
