Valencia is on the east part of Spain, roughly in the middle, by the Mediterranean sea shore, and it is very well connected with Europe and the rest of Spain.Hotels
If you arrive by plane, Valencia's airport (VLC), located in Manises, is about 7km from downtown Valencia. Some regular airlines and a large number of low-cost airlines have direct flights from many cities in Europe, and in particular from several UK cities. Otherwise, you are likely arriving through Madrid or Barcelona airports.
Metered taxis are across the main ground floor exit. The fare into the city center is between €15 and €20. There also exists a bus service, but the taxis are more convenient. Please notice that about €4 will be added to the amount shown in the meter in all trips from (but not to) the airport.
There are also two underground lines which link the airport, the city centre and the port. Stops are at the ground floor of the regional flights terminal. There are trains going to downtown every 10 minutes. See more info (in spanish) in MetroValencia's web page.
Special rates for participants will be arranged at various hotels close the workshop venue. Participating hotels, with addresses, phone and fax numbers, web pages, e-mail addresses, number of available rooms and rates for single and double rooms, will be listed here.Tourist information
Participants are kindly requested to make their own arrangements. To do so, first decide which hotel you like the most. Then check availability before booking by contacting them (via e-mail, phone or fax) and mentioning "STDM, workshop organized by Fundación Universidad-Empresa" in order to get the special rate at the participating hotels. Rooms will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If rooms at the special rate are still available when you contact them, fill and send this accommodation form to the hotel (via e-mail or fax) to formalize your booking.
Late arrivals (after 6 pm) should be notified to the hotel to guarantee the reservation.
