EFFECT AND ROLE OF MINERALIZERS IN DIFFERENT CERAMIC SYSTEMS

We try to stablish the role played by several substances called mineralizers in the phase formation, through solid state reaction and/or crystallization of some compounds during thermal processing.

In this project we have examined the effect of some mineralizers, such as lithium or calcium salts, on the microstructure and further properties of triaxial porcelains. Likewise, we have investigated the celsian formation and its further phase transition from mixtures of kaolin and barium carbonate to wich small amounts of mineralizers were added.
