The Theoretical Chemistry Research Unit at ICMol-UV

1. The UIQT (from valentian&catalan Unitat de Investigació en Química Teòrica) is integrated by Faculty members,researchers, and PhD students specialized in Physical Chemistry. The group continues the long tradition in Quantum Chemistry at the University of Valencia since the pioneering introduction of the field in Spain by professor Jose Ignacio Fernández Alonso in the 1960's.

2. The UIQT gathers a number of research lines in Theoretical Chemistry, whose scope goes from computational applications to method development and calibration. The main research lines at present are:

• Excited state quantum chemistry (QCEXVAL):Theoretical Photobiology.
• Electroactive molecular materials (QCMATMOL).
• Chemical reactivity: atmospheric chemistry.
• Chemical reactivity: heterogeneous catalysis.
• High precision quantum-chemistry methods.
• Molecular simulations and modelling.
• Theoretical Organic Chemistry.
