Additional Information

The Tossal Hall at the University of Valencia in Gandia hosts this summer the exhibition The Seven Veils of Inma Coll, an artistic and vital proposal of great expressive intensity that reflects on aging and the ways in which mature women are made invisible in contemporary society. Through painting, textile art, installation, and video art, Valencian artist Inma Coll—one of the most genuine voices of current Spanish expressionism—symbolically removes seven veils that hide marginalized realities such as midorexia, the stigma of aging, the crisis of productivity, or silence around mental health.

With a language that oscillates between pictorial carnality and feminist activism, the exhibition invites a performative and intimate journey through the body and soul of women, offering a rebellious, lucid, and empowering perspective. Inma Coll’s work establishes an intergenerational and critical dialogue, giving voice to a vital experience that often remains on the margins of the dominant cultural narrative.

Selected for the third edition of the Activa Cultura program by the University of Valencia and curated by Alejandro Villar, this exhibition is also a call for the museum as a space of thought and transformation. In Gandia, The Seven Veils continues its journey, becoming a stage of resistance and revelation.
