In the last years, more and more people are going back to their villages to find a job.

The current working environment and the digital era, in which we live immersed in information and communication technologies, allows many professionals to work online with their own computer and access to the Internet. Additionally, many organisations have introduced teleworking in their daily activities, regardless of the job being part-time of full-time.

Returning to your town and doing the job that you want gives you the opportunity to live professionally satisfied while having all the advantages of living in the countryside:

- Saving money in your house: renting and buying a house tends to be cheaper.
- Healthier lifestyle: less air pollution and more contact with nature
- Sociability: a peaceful lifestyle and closer contact with your neighbours.

On the other hand, we can specialise our occupational activity in a different variety of jobs. These are some of the clues:

- Tourism: rural tourism, agro-tourism and experience-based tourism
- Agri-food, farming and livestock activities
- Craft and artistic activities: sale of products online
- Liberal occupations: you can conduct them thanks to the Internet to gain target customers and deliver the product in fields such as graphic design, vocational counselling, digital marketing, E-commerce, SEO, guidance... The list is infinite!

Some practical examples illustrate perfectly this life and labour style. For instance, a travel agency was founded in  Fresno de la Carballeda, which is a town of only 12 residents.  The target customers of this online agency live thousands of kilometres away. Thanks to the Internet, the owners can work where they want without an office on site.   Another example is the workshop of traditional board games for online sale. There are also distant food sellers and workshops of textile recovery. They propose interesting initiatives such as combining them with patchwork courses.

As you can see, going back to villages to find a job is a real alternative that has many advantages if it is the life and job prospect that you are looking for. What are you waiting for?
