What do we do?
The main activity of LARAM is to determine radioactive content in different types of samples or environments.
Services offered
The tests performed by the laboratory with ENAC accreditation (959/LE1381) are the following:
- Analysis of gross alpha activity, gross beta activity, residual beta activity and H-3 in drinking water and continental water.
- Analysis of Rn-222 concentration in drinking water samples.
- Determination of radioactive parameters (gross alpha activity, gross beta activity, residual beta activity, H-3 and Rn-222) and Total Indicative Dose (according to these parameters) according to RD 3/2023 in drinking water.
- Gamma isotopic analysis in different types of water samples (drinking, continental, waste and marine water).
- Sampling of drinking water to carry out the accredited analyses.
- Gamma isotopic analysis in different types of atmospheric collection samples (dust particle filters and activated carbon sampling devices).
Other tests carried out by the laboratory (which are not accredited by the ENAC mark) are the following:
- Analysis of Rn-22 concentration indoors (air) and in different types of samples (soils, other types of water…).
- Analysis of the gross alpha activity, gross beta activity and Sr-89/Sr-90 concentration in atmospheric collection samples (dust particle filters).
- Gamma isotopic analysis in different types of samples (soils and sediments, vegetation, food, ceramics…).
- Sr-89/Sr-90 concentration analysis in different types of samples (water, soils, and sediments, vegetation, food…)
- I-131 concentration analysis in different types of samples (water, milk, vegetation…).
- Alpha spectrometric analysis for the determination of U-234 and U-238 in water samples.
- Spectrometric alpha analysis for the determination of Po-210 in water samples.
LARAM is included in the Catalogue of Public Health Laboratories of the General Directorate of Public Heath of the Department of Health of the Government of the Valencian Community for water analysis and food analysis.
