BECKTON DIKINSON, BD FACSAria Fusion
Cell Separator Flow Cytometer ARIA FUSION
Brand: BECKTON DIKINSON, BD FACSAria Fusion
Type: Equipment

Cell Separator equipped with 6 lasers, biosafety cabinet and aerosol extraction. It allows, firstly, the rapid measurement of morphological and functional parameters of a large number of individual cells suspended in liquid medium. For this, cells are initially labelled with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies, or fluorescent probes that bind to proteins located on the cell surface or inside the cell. The scattered light and fluorescence emitted by the markers as the cells are passed one by one through the different lasers allows simultaneous measurement of structural features and various parameters in each of these cells.

In addition, after analysis, it is possible to separate and collect subpopulations of interest from the sample for further studies.

Description

Flow cytometer Separator with 6 lasers (355nm, 405nm, 455nm, 488nm, 561nm and 640nm).

Detection of 20 parameters (18 fluorescence and 2 light scattering).

Allows separation of up to 4 subpopulations simultaneously in 1.5ml, 2ml and 5ml tubes, and up to 2 subpopulations in 15ml tubes.

It has an ACDU (Automated Cell Deposition Unit) for single cell or cell number separation in different types of well plates (384, 96, 48, 24 and 6w) and slides. It is only possible to separate one subpopulation at a time on a plate.

The separator is installed inside a vertical flow biosafety cabinet type IIA2 with an Aerosol Management System (AMS). While the biosafety cabinet protects the operator from exposure to aerosols during a separation, the AMS system also evacuates the aerosols by operating independently of the cabinet. This redundant design further reduces the risk of operator exposure.

It has temperature control of the sample to be separated and of the samples already separated.

It uses FACSDiva 8 software for acquisition and analysis.

In addition, the laboratory has the following auxiliary equipment (see "Cytometry laboratory"):
