Our doctor Josué González-Camejo is doing an international stay at the Department of Science and Engineering of Materials, Environment and Urbanism (SIMAU) of the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy) under the supervision of Professor Francesco Fatone

The doctor, belonging to the CALAGUA group, has joined the Water and Waste Environmental Engineering (WWEELab) research group of the Department of Science and Engineering of Materials, Environment and Urbanism (SIMAU) of the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy), which was born in 2016 and has already participated in twenty research projects funded by the main research programs of the European Union: HORIZON EUROPE, HORIZON 2020, PRIMA Initiative, WATER JPI, LIFE, ENI CBC MED , Climate-KIC COSME. The group also manages several applied research projects, commissioned by waste and wastewater utilities and public authorities.

During González-Camejo's 2-year stay, he will participate in the group's main lines of research, including:

• Development of eco-innovative and sustainable solutions for the recovery of water resources and waste (based on the circular economy).
• Development of innovative and digital solutions considering the "WEFE (water-energy-food-ecosystem) NEXUS".
• Measurement and reduction of the energy, water, environmental and carbon footprint of water and waste treatment processes.
