The CSMV Jazz Orchestra presents The Atomic Mr. Basie in concert, a journey through the eleven tracks of the album with the same title, published in 1958 by the paradigmatic Count Basie and his big band, with compositions and arrangements by Neal Hefti.
The orchestra will be conducted by Jesús Santandreu, with the collaboration of Jeff Jerolamon, drum-jazz teacher at the CSMV, who took part in several concerts with Basie's orchestra, and piano-jazz teacher Jorge Sevilla.
The CSMV Jazz Orchestra pursues the interpretative excellence of the great orchestras of the United States. To achieve this milestone, they work rigorously to obtain a professional sound as a result. Also called Big band, this group plays an important role in the learning process as an instrument for the acquisition of the educational skills of the students of the CSMV Jazz Department.
