The multidisciplinary team, made up of specialists from different fields (Ancient History, Art History and Cultural Heritage, Archaeology, Bioanthropology, Chemistry and Roman Law), aims to research aspects related to the world of culture and death in Antiquity, as well as its transmission, reception and influences in later times up to the present day. Through the study of ancient sources, both material and textual, key aspects in various societies and cultures around the phenomenon of death are analysed: ideology, beliefs, myths, symbolism, ritual, politics and legislation, memory, emotions and manifestations. The role and presence of women in all these cultural aspects is also addressed in a special way.
