Several conferences and meetings of the FIT FORTHEM team will be held from June 28 to 30, 2022, at the University of Opole, to conclude the work done in the first phase of the project (the first 18 months of work) and with the aim of summarizing the main achievements in the different areas or work packages.

During these meetings, each partner university will present what has been planned and achieved in the area it coordinates and will share some of the transformative organizational practices and innovations that FIT FORTHEM has promoted.

There will also be a slot for the EU officials invited to the conference, project advisor Rinske van den Berg and policy officer Stijn Delaure, as well as for the recommendations of the FIT FORTHEM External Advisory Board. Conference participants will assess progress made, share success stories and discuss challenges faced so far. Special sessions will also be devoted to areas such as open science and co-creation, human capital and research resources, and ways to make cultural heritage accessible.

Considering the milestones of both FIT FORTHEM and FORTHEM, the conference will draw alignments and synergies with the future phase of FORTHEM and new Alliance partners from the University of Agder and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. The conference will conclude with a session on how FORTHEM can actively support Ukrainian scholars.
