Virtual workshop: Digital Transformation in Societies Thursday 17 June

Next Thursday 17 June from 10:00 to 14:00 a free-of-charge virtual workshop, organised by the University of Jyväskylä and the Universitat de València within the FORTHEM Alliance, will take place to share ideas in the digitalization of societies. This event aims to exchange ideas, create networks and initiate new collaborations in different fields, as well as to meet and establish contacts with experts from FORTHEM universities and other relevant stakeholders such as private companies, public organisations, NGOs, etc.

Digital transformation has generated many challenges in different areas of societies, a situation that has been further accentuated by the COVID-19 health crisis. FORTHEM Digital Transformation Lab, expert group consisting of academics from 7 universities of FORTHEM alliance, propose to investigate these social challenges within different fields such as economy and education, in political, legal, social and cultural issues, without forgetting artificial intelligence on societies.

The workshop will start with a brief introduction to the Digital Transformation Lab and Horizon Europe and, then, academics from different universities will facilitate short sessions in four modules:

Module 1: The digitalization of the economy.

Module 2: Artificial intelligence upon societies

Module 3: Political, legal, social and cultural issues

Module 4: Knowledge, education and health

The sessions will be followed by an interactive discussion with the participants and, at the end of the discussion, future possibilities for collaboration will be considered. For more information, you can consult the full programme here.

This workshop is addressed to anyone interested in digital transformation in the fields of economics, education, politics, law, society or culture, etc. for people who work in a public or private organisation, a political party, an NGO or any other type of association.
