The Degree in Gastronomic Sciences aims to produce professionals with a solid knowledge base in science, technology, health and business management who are able to design and manage gastronomic projects and services in the professional fields of haute cuisine, commercial and mass catering and the food industry. In addition, the degree develops and encourages creativity, innovation and research in the world of gastronomy, which has a high economic and social impact, in order to respond to the changes that occur in the field of the food industry, in the perception of cooking and in the new forms of consumption.
To study Gastronomic Sciences it is recommended that applicants have a prior knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics.
Practical sessions are an essential part of this degree.
The degree is offered in collaboration with the Tourism Centre of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Valencia Hotel and Catering Business Federation, the Gambrinus School of Hotel Management and Catering, and also Mercavalencia, the Regulatory Councils of Denominations of Origin of the Valencian Community and the Valencian Academy of Gastronomy.
