The Cultural Centre La Nau of the University of Valencia will host tomorrow, February 14, the presentation of the book 'The eyes of Walter Reuter', written by Cristina Escrivà. The event, which is part of the Forum of Debats programming, will be held in the Aula Magna at 19:30 and will feature speeches by the author, Professor Mirta Nunez, from the Complutense University of Madrid; Francesc Piera, graduate in Fine Arts, and Tonetxo Pardiñas as presenter. Admission to the event is free and limited to the capacity of the room.

According to writer Cristina Escrivà, "Walter Reuter was the great photographer of the Republic, of a dimension similar to Capa's or Centelles', even though he remains a total stranger for the general public." Cristina Escrivà has made a biographical reconstruction between 1933 and 1939 through the photographic works of Walter Reuter (Germany 1906 - Mexico 2005), through research on newspaper and state and international archives and international showcasing the artist's mastery.

His photographs tell stories, interpreted with the sensitivity to show what he saw. Thanks to that, scenes of the time of hope and fight against fascism that was invading the Spanish territory are showcased. Along with anonymous and known people, through the prism of social commitment, Walter Reuter immortalized loyal Spain at the Republic's service. In fact, it could be said that he was the Republican cultural projects' photographer. Biography and images are arranged thematically. The edition features over 130 photographs, most of them unpublished.
