Friends and Former Students begins April with a visit to the Valencian architecture of the Second Republic

l'Horta de Almàssera.

A new monograph of the Second Republic is the centerpiece of the activities organised in April by Friends and Former Students of the University of Valencia. This time, the group will tour the Valencian architecture of the thirties, with the help of expert Josep Maria Sancho. The tour will be on 13 April and the deadline for registration will start on the 9th

Historian Almela i Vives wrote in 1932 about the architectural transformation that was taking place in that decade in the center of Valencia. Now, almost a century later, the group of Friends and Former Students wants to remember its origin strolling through this symbolic architecture: the neighborhood of Sant Francesc, the new city center built during the thirties. Buildings of this avant-grade include the cinema Capitol, buildings Cánovas and Tortosa-Martínez Sala or the Ateneo Mercantil.

In April, Friends and Former Students Estellés continues to celebrate the year Estellés. On 27 April they will perform a literary path through Xàtiva. With actor Vincent Grande and professor Ximo Corts, they will go up the castle to walk around the ramparts, the Church of Sant Josep, Sant Feliu, La nevera, the Cave of the Schooners and the Lions and the Castle.

All this accompanied by the Valencian poet's verses. The term to register opens on 9 April and ends on the 12th.

Furthermore, the group proposes two more tours this month in the series 'Valencia, inside and out', with which visitors will learn the wondrous life of Father Vincent, through Vincentians places left in Valencia, and the luxury of l'Horta Nord mosaics, with a visit to Almàssera and l'Horta, one of the most productive and of the highest scenic value, to reach the neighborhood of Nolla, its little palace, and start a new walk to Meliana, whose facades remain decorated by Nolla's tiles, factory founded in 1860. The tours will be held on 13 and 20 April, respectively.

On April 25, Friends and Former Students has a new gastronomic proposal. It is the sixth spring tasting, cocktail style, organised by Bodegas El Taller Torres-and for which you have to register from 9 April. Those who register will learn how to prepare fantastic cocktails with gin, rum, tequila and brandy with Spain champion shaker Hilari Fombuena. The workshop will take place in Valencia Club Kitchen facilities, Plaza San Felipe Neri 6b, in Valencia.

And, although until May 5 the pilgrimage on the road will not take place, from 15 to 19 April you can sign up for this adventurer in a green route from Ares to Catí or a route through villages with small tours of the nearby small municipalities with Joan V. Candel, Fil-per-Randa guide, coinciding with the celebration of the arrival of the pilgrims who go down Castellfort. There will be a picknick with pastries and sandwiches, and you can taste the famous pilgrims pot.

All these activities are organized in collaboration with the Travel Club Fil-per-Randa.
