
The Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences holds, on Thursday, the presentation of the book ‘Fuerzas de flaqueza’ (‘Strength and weakness’) by Germán Cano (professor at the University of Alcalá). The event will start at 18 at the Assembly Hall of the centre. In addition to the author, Luis Arenas (University of Zaragoza), Horacio Martínez (Pontifical Catholic University), Vicente Sanfélix (Universitat de València) and Nicolás Sánchez (Universitat de València).
Tenured university lecturer of Contemporary Philosophy at the University of Alcalá de Henares is the author, among others, of ‘Como un ángel frío’ (‘As a cold angel’), ‘Nietzsche y la crítica de la modernidad’ (‘Nietzsche and the critique to modernity’), ‘Hacer morir, dejar vivir. Biopolítica y capitalismo’ (‘Make die or let live. Biopolitics and capitalism’) or ‘Adoquines bajo la playa. Escenografías biopolíticas del 68’ (‘Paving stones under the beach. Biopolitics scenographies of 68’).
Specialised on contemporary philosophy, he has published may works about social and political problems related to the new subjective and contemporary processes. Currently he is also collaborating in various media and cultural supplements of the Spanish press (Huffington Post, La Cuarta Página, El Cultural).
Following the editor Manuel Cruz ‘beyond the tonality with which we want to define this ‘Fuerzas de flaqueza’, we find ourselves before a book called to to accomplish a function both simple and necessary, both clear and unavoidable, which is to help us to think in an specific light what is happening to us’.
