Universitat de València, through the Delegation for University Integration, has organised the 5th edition of Ciència ARA for students of high academic performance and/or of high capacities, at Burjassot-Paterna Campus. On the other side, Faculty of Biological Sciences hosted the first edition of DoCiència: School for Secondary Teaching Training.
Ciència ARA is a scientific activity programme that aims to respond to the demand of secondary centres that consider the need of paying attention to students with high capacities and/or performance by means of activities that favour their curricular enrichment and the development of their capacities. Concretely, the current demand that the centres asked for is for upper secondary school education students in the field of Sciences and Health Sciences.
In this fifth edition of Ciència ARA, several activities in the Burjassot-Paterna Campus have been offered. The selected students have carried out internships at the Aquarium Plant and at the Greenhouses of the Central Service for Experimental Research (SCSIE); in the Faculty of Chemistry they have worked in the “Disclosure of fingerprints and drugs detection” and at the Faculty of Pharmacy they have taken the course “Analysing urine and determining unusual and urinary infection.” They have also made the study of skin flora.
The programme Ciència ARA could expand according to the demand of the upper secondary school education centres and/or the offer of the centres of Universitat de València.
