On Thursday 17 July, Massamagrell’s mayor, Miguel Bailach, delivers the distinction “Vila de Massamagrell” (Massamagrell Village) to the Vice-Principal of Participation and Territorial Projection, Jorge Hermosilla. The act will take place in the Gardens of the Madeleine Covent, at 8:00 p.m.
As stated in the certificate for the concession of awards, the University of Valencia is awarded with the distinction “Vila de Massamagrell” (Massamagrell Village) to the most renowned supramunicipal institution in the development and progress of the Valencian municipality.
Vice-Principal Hermosilla highlighted that the Unisocietat programme has been lately implemented, with a marked success of registered students; it has had an excellent exhibition about L’Horta de Valencia (Valencia orchards), curated by professor Joan Romero; there have been several conferences organized that approached diverse subjects (economics, education, psychology, environment, etc.) and an exhibition on Valencian traditional sports has been carried out; its inauguration will coincide with the world championships of Valencian ball game, celebrated in Massamagrell. The Vice-Principal remarked that these actions are funded by the participation of the Valencian Provincial Council and other entities.
