The APUNE (Asociación de Programas Universitarios Norteamericanos en España/ Association of North American Programmes in Spain) has been associated with Universitat de València to carry joint projects out. This institution, which started in 1968, intends to approach American and Spanish culture through the exchange between university students.
Through the International Studies Abroad (ISA) institution and other specific agreements with other American universities (Iowa State University, University of North Carolina, Georgia Institute of Technology and Rutgers University of New Jersey), Universitat de València will organise Spanish language and culture immersion courses to groups of American students.
During 2014, a total of 10 courses were given, and 266 students participated. The International Relations and Cooperation Service is in charge of the economic and administrative management, in cooperation with course coordinators and professors.
